Wizard's Council consists of chaste and scientifically inclined women, hand-picked by Glinda. They are all former Glinda's girls, brought up for the purpose of becoming Councilwomen.
The Wizard learns that the women are spying him for Glinda and had them put to death by throwing them in a pit with a young fire witch.
